Privacy
Short version: we keep what we need to save and adapt your recipes, nothing more. No ads, no selling data, no tracking you across other apps.

Who we are
Pinchery is an iPhone app that saves recipes from TikTok, Instagram and recipe websites and adapts them to your country, portions and diet. For anything about your data, write to [email protected].
What we store
- An anonymous account. When you first open the app we create an account tied to your device. No name, no phone number, no password. If you later sign in with Apple, we store the anonymous identifier Apple gives us.
- Your settings. Language, country, units, household size, diet preferences (for example no pork or vegetarian) and optional calorie or protein targets.
- Your recipes. The links you share, the recipes we create from them, your edits, collections and shopping lists.
- Your food log. If you use it: what you logged, when, and the estimated calories and macros. Diet preferences and food logs can say something about your health or beliefs, so we only use them to run the features you asked for.
- Waitlist email. If you join the waitlist on this site: your email, language, a country guessed from your browser language, and when you signed up. We use it only to tell you about the beta and launch.
- Basic technical logs. Error reports and request logs (IP address, time, app version), kept for up to 30 days to keep the service running and safe.
What we don't do
- No ads and no ad tracking.
- We don't sell or rent your data.
- We don't post anything anywhere on your behalf.
Who helps us
To turn a video into a recipe we use a few processors. They only get what they need for that job:
- OpenRouter (and the AI model providers it routes to): reads the caption, transcript and on-screen text of a post to write the recipe, swaps, diet changes and nutrition estimates. We don't send your email or account details.
- Apify and TikHub: fetch the public post behind a link you shared (caption, video, creator name).
- Our hosting provider (a VPS in the EU) runs our servers and database, and Cloudflare sits in front of them for security and speed.
- Apple handles payments and subscriptions. We never see your card details.
Some of these companies are outside the EU. Where that's the case, transfers rely on the safeguards the law requires, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Why we're allowed to
We process your data to provide the app you asked for (contract), to keep it secure and working (legitimate interest), and to email you about the waitlist (your consent, which you can withdraw any time). Diet and food-log data is processed only because you chose to enter it, to show you your own numbers.
How long we keep it
Recipes, settings and logs stay as long as your account exists. Delete your account in the app (Settings, Delete account) and we erase it within 30 days, backups included. Waitlist emails are deleted when you unsubscribe or a year after launch, whichever comes first.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, export it, delete it, or object to how we use it. You can export your recipes in the app at any time. Write to [email protected] and we'll answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Kids
Pinchery isn't meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
This website
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or third-party scripts. Our server keeps standard access logs for a short time.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it applies.
